Track Assignment
-The circular track is divided by nine unnumbered segment markers.

- Lap 1
begins at the first segment marker labeled START.
Complete one lap clockwise around the track without landing on any segment markers.
This and all following rules will apply for the entire duration of the assignment.

Laps 2 and 3
will each initiate their own independent and recurring counting cycle every time the START marker is crossed. Laps and counting cycles do not remain synchronous.

- As of lap 2,
the participant shall continue in the same clockwise
direction but turn and run facing backward as of the thirteenth segment marker
encountered and then return to running while facing forward as of the fifth segment marker
encountered after the eleventh in this cycle but now repeating the backward /forward run
every fifth marker encountered for the entire duration of the assignment.
The markers are to be counted in the order given by the rule.
The re-initiation of this independent counting cycle always resumes as of the first marker encountered
after the last counted marker of the cycle (5), not as of the "Start" marker that had initiated the lap.

- As of lap 3,
alternately accelerate or decelerate as of every second, fifth, and third consecutive segment marker encountered for the entire duration of the assignment. The markers are to be counted in the order given by the rule. The re-initiation of this independent counting cycle always resumes as of the first marker encountered after the last counted marker of the cycle (2), not as of the "Start" marker that had initiated this lap.

- After completing a fourth lap and sustaining all previous rules and independent counting cycles, introduce a complete turn, alternately left or right, as of every third segment consecutively encountered in the assignment's final laps. Participants with diverse mobilities are welcome to substitute the actions defined by the rules with other achievable actions corresponding to the numbers given by the rules.

All rules may be individually combined and adapted to facilitate lap completion consistent with younger participants' developmental skills.

Alternatively, concise, hand-written linear solutions, which translate the assignment into a step-by-step procedure, may be posted on the bulletin board in hall five.
